I read that thread 4 or 5 times, and frankly I'm confused as to how you saw veiled insult in it. All I saw was a sincere and thoughtful sentiment complimenting and appreciating GCG. Opie2 has (as any respectable person would do) responded stating his intentions and offered an apology. I know how I'd respond to him if I were in your shoes.
That having been said, even if it were true that it was a veiled insult, I'd rather read something like that than the thread "SHAWN ARMOUR, SR. (40 y/o male)". Unless an obvious joke (which I don't get if such is the case) identifying an individual by name and calling them names and/or insults should not be tolerated. IMO such childish and inconsiderate posters should be banned, and the post deleted. Given the two situations here, I'm scratching my head wondering, what and where are the priorities here? I so much enjoy visiting GCG. It's fun, very informative, easy to navigate, and the graphic design (as a former graphic designer) really is top notch. Plus the discussion board where we can talk about things and give opinions and hopefully, learn from each other and even make friends. IOW, a community within a community. You gals have done a wonderful service in providing the community with this incredibly useful site...and I and many others thank you for that...! I'd hate to see it go down the drain.
