Trisreal,
I am sorry, but how is not comparable and to both you and Dee, what then does the Roman passage mean - tell me.
If it isn't what His Word says then please enlighten me so I can refrain from being wrong any longer. Perhaps I can rearrange some of the values in my own life and quit being so hard on myself if I get to overlook what He calls sin.
Where is all the tolerance you all proclaim to have? See, this is the part that kills me - you act as though I am the one claiming that I am the only one who knows the right way, I am sighting God's Word - not my words - GIT didn't write the Bible.
But what are you doing? Are you not proclaiming that unless I accept homosexuality as a way of life and all other ways of life as honorable and "just another path", that I am wrong?
Oh wait, all ways are right except the way GIT is supposed to be making up. Do you not see how ludicrous your reasoning is? Even if you claim I have made up my own views, by your own reasoning they are just as right and valid as your own - so why the animosity?
You just want me to be like you and acknowledge all ways of life as good and okay and without sin. No ones life is without sin - no ones!!! God says this too.
What I am saying is that unless humans have something other than their own selves to draw a set moral law from - there is no moral law. If we get to make up the rules, all things get to be okay because by your own humanistic reasoning "all of us are different and all of us must choose our path" - whatever!!! This is nothing more than - "I will do what I want to do" - this is basically atheism - being my own god.
If you think this is far fetched, look what Catch said, he values himself better because he is educated and desires to conform to societal standards. Tell me, how do societal standards change? Did the Germans lack intelligence? Did those who participated in the annihilation of so many not conform to societal standards at the time? Did many of us not turn our own backs?
No, we were not alive at that time - so we can sit back and say we wouldn't have done such a thing - but the truth is we would - so goes survival in a time when survival meant turning your back and not being of the proclivity of those less desired.
My point only is this - none of us are good - God says this. We are unable to stand for those things that are good - unless He so gives us strength - even if we don't realize Him for that source of strength.
How then am I attempting to make God fit into my worldview when I am only trying to fit into His? His is much tougher than mine would be - mine would be attainable - His is not. As far as has been posted, I am the only one admitting that I am not perfect and that I have sin in my life - everyone else seems only to be attempting to excuse the sin God calls sin. Do any of you sin and have sin in your lives now? Anyone other than me?
If He isn't saying homosexuality is sin here - explain it to me and this should end all controversy, if God has condoned this behavior. If God doesn't condone it, then should I listen to you or God?
Don't give me your opinion - give me God's truth to prove your point. Explain this passage and site others - otherwise take your animosity and place in the right place, at God, instead of at me, it is His Word - not my word.
One more thing - before any of you jump at the chance to proclaim Hitler a Christian.
1. God does not condone such behavior - the Isrealites are and were His chosen people. Jews were not the only ones persecuted during the war - God does not condone the annihilation of any of His children.
2. Hitler was a supporter of Stalin and his communistic ideology.
