i dont think starting at 120k... i am saying make that a goal... right now the glass ceiling is...80k? thats a Master's graduate with like 28 years experience... if we made the glass ceiling like...120k...for PhD or people with 10+ years experience and proven results - it could be a goal for those with alot of skill and experience to work hard for that top salary. therefore - those who would be great teachers and are brilliant people would not be turned away at the bleak salary. greed drives most people - and money talks. i do see how that system COULD skew other wages - but it would almost be like an "invite" professionals would receive from the government - paired with a hefty subsidized fund - to attract the leaders of our country into our classrooms. that is such a hefty chore - but i think our youth and our future is worth it.
