"And you can't assume that just because someone has a negative view of hip-hop that it is because of racism, how are we to know their motives" but when their "negative view" relates ANY rap show as an attraction for gang violence without ANY justification... it can easily be assumed it racially motivated. rap = a form of music invented and adored by black people. rapper = artist who performs rap music for those who adore rap. a rapper tries to put on rap show and gets shut down - on faulty premise - in a historically racist town. he had the deposit down, and i can not fathom any possible reason for WHY their insurance would not cover a rap show...but would allow for the sale of liquor, food, gambling, weddings, chicken and beer dances, bingo, etc.......... and yet...a rap show is not covered?? how can they legally get around such discrimination? obviously...they decided to use the "gang violence" excuse and pretend to maintain the peace. sounds fishy to me. sounds racially motivated to me. you can try hard to see it another way - but doing so is just thinking one-sided and through denial.
