I am not worried for my job, nor do I think AA's are unsafe. The overall question of safety cannot be proved for any study would be woefully underpowered, due to relative paucity of AA's. You clearly cannot or will not read my posts for I have never called into question the safety of AA's.My personal opinion is that they can and do provide safe anesthesia care every day. My beef with the AAAA is that they are a subset of the ASA and are no more then a weapon to be used against CRNA's period. Until they at least ATTEMPT to control their own practice they will always be nothing more then a weapon against CRNA's. The other issue is that the post is what is the difference, not "What does Dave J. think MAY happen in the unforeseen future", or "What dave feels compelled to say because stanley kristiansen posted" Keep to the point otherwise be quiet. As for anesthesiologists felling CRNA's are safe, we were the first anesthesia providers, we did not need to get acceptance from the ASA or AMA or any other medical association. Hell our first allies were not even nursing associations but the AHA. It was not until later that doctors became involved with anesthesia.
