dd’s post: Fact: AAs are not competent to render any care without an MDA. -----------
This is a lie. AA’s can administer drugs, monitor patients, and perform ACLS even if MDA’s are not in the room. MDA’s do not dictate each and every move for the AA’s (otherwise, what would be the purpose of hiring AAs). AA’s are given freedom to provide the necessary care as long as it is within the scope of their duty and commone sense. In other words, they are not totally dependent on MDAs.

dd’s post: Fact: AAs are totally dependent on, and clinically completely useless without an MDA. ---------
This is a lie. Refer to my response above. Second, if AA’s are clinically useless, why would MDAs even hire them?

dd’s post: Fact: AAs exist for one reason and one reason alone, to guarantee a billing opportunity for an MDA. There is no other reason for the A$As recent resurrection of the long failed AA experiment.
    .----------------------------------------
This is a lie. Who said that AA’s are simply for billing oppurtinity? Did the US president said this? Did Osama Bin Laden said this? Did Britney Spears said this? You claim that this is a fact, then back it up.

According to the ASA: In the 1960s, three anesthesiologists, Joachim S. Gravenstein, John E. Steinhaus, and Perry P. Volpitto, were concerned with the shortage of anesthesiologists in the country……[sic] This person would perform the same job as the NA but would be readily able to go on to medical school if appropriate. This new professional, the anesthesiologist assistant, or AA, thus had the potential to alleviate the shortage of anesthesiologists. The concept became reality in 1969 when the first AA training program began accepting students at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, followed shortly thereafter by a second program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

So why are you saying that the AA experiment is a failure when they have and are achieving their goals? AA’s can perform the same job as CRNA’s under the ACT, and yes they can go to medical school if they wish to. AA’s can alleviate the shortage of anesthesiologists. Again, the founders of the AA profession have and are achieving their goals. So why are you calling this a failure?

dd’s post: Fact: The above facts are indisputable-------------------------Oh, please.
