The AANA has lobbied well for your "rights" to practice solo in the shit holes of America. But, in the best places and across the USA, MDA's control 90% plus of the good contracts. This means 90% of the AANA's membership works UNDER the supervision of an MDA.
As an AA, we are happy to keep 90% of the Anesthesia business and give you arrogant Nurses the worst 10%. In the best places the MDA's run the show. This is where we want to work. In the USA's finest hospitals and outpatient centers. You can keep the solo GI crap and "rural" America. We will take the rest. Now,I know you guys make much more money in the GI centers and shit holes but that's okay with me. As long as we continue to open new programs and get licensed in more states the future of AA's in the USA looks bright.
So, our "limited practice rights" are enough to earn a real, real good living. That is why 50% of the Mid-Level Providers in the State of Georgia are AA's. We want Florida next. Earning the SAME AMOUNT of MONEY$$ as 90% of your AANA's members is good enough for me and the AAAA. WE will fight the AANA and people like you for our rightful place in the operating room. I know it won't be easy beating the AANA but we will eventually win the war for licensure in most large States.
