Pattie, I asked my sis-in-law to do this for me. She was happy to. We've been doing this since before COVID.

If I have one of my girls or grandsons here, I'll let her know I won't be texting until they leave.

I also have that long crocheted tail that I have bow-tied to the grommet on my phone cover so if I do fall, I can try to crawl or drag myself to pull it down. I usually have my phone with me though even if I'm in the bathroom.

When my oldest brother was living with me before he died, I got the Life Alert for him, put it on a lanyard and had him wear it around his neck. He'd put the Alert in his shirt pocket, so it wasn't dangling. He used it about 6 times when he'd fall. He stayed in his room (which I had set up like an apartment) all day with the door closed so I couldn't hear him when he'd call.

Twice he fell outside and I couldn't hear him.
Usually, I'd realize he wasn't coming back in, so I go out to check. I couldn't get him up, so I'd call 911. That's when I decided to get the Life Alert for him.
