I was just thinking about what I do at 8:00 AM each morning unless I have someone here. I set my alarm and when it goes off, I text my sis-in-law "Morning". She sends me back a meme or one word to let me know she read it. This is to let her know that I've made it through the night. My brother and she live 5 minutes from me. If I don't text at that time, she'll wait then starts to text me and if I don't answer, she'll call. I am very grateful for that.

Another thing I do is, when I am going to get up on a stepstool I'll text Amy. She knows that if I don't text back that I'm not off the stool safely, she'll know to call the fire department.

I have a lockbox at my front door that only the fire department has access to (free) so they can get in to make sure I'm okay.

Do you have any precautions set in place this way? If you do, please share them. If it's one I don't have, I might implement it.
