Are your hands smooth and pretty?

Mine are, until you get to the fingers and they're mis-shaped with the gouty arthritis. And age has begun to make the veins show more prominently.

I've trimmed my nails so as not to rip holes in my skin where I am itchy. Thin skin and whichever ailment has given me this perpetual itchiness, makes for blood on my clothes frequently. So far I've been able to remove it with Peroxide.
