Around here it is difficult to abuse the programs for underprivileged recipients.The organizations are very efficient about cross checking.I am sure as in any organization there might be multiple applicants but the way my area is set up it is very difficult to "work" the system.

In the past churches and schools would choose families to sponsor for holiday food baskets and toys for children that otherwise wouldn't have gifts under their Christmas tree.

In my humble opinion when a bill or coin is thrown into a Red Bucket it does indeed go toward a worthy cause.If One chooses to grab a wishlist from an Angel Tree and fulfills a child's needs the giver is blessed beyond measure.
