Moab was horribly hot, often in three digit temperatures. We had a swamp cooler that leaked water down the outside of the house and that was our "air conditioner" I usually went to the power dam and swam to be able to live there. The Colorado was dangerous, with undertows and eddies that could pull you down. It was always kind of muddy, too. But the power dam was fueled by streams that came off the LaSal mountains.
