The flooding is horrible. I remember a flood when the 'river' was called the Amazon, and most of the time, you can wade across it.It flooded and the water came up to the bottom of the windows. Mom kept me inside, but a couple of days and it receded and turned our yard to a big mud hole. Turned out the mud was toxic. I played in it, and my skin had cracks you could see blood in the cracks. She wouldn't let me out again until the yard was dry.

The difference being from the Guadalupe or the Colorado River is that they are wide and deep and the speed water flows gets a whole lot faster. The Amazon in Eugene is barely a creek.
