There is a wonderful video on You Tube giving the story of The Pledge of Allegiance and how it came to be written by Francis Scott Keys. I think it should be shown in all the schools, and the Pledge should be mandatory again.

When I was in grade school, those whose religion didn't allow it weren't made to say it. When I was in junior high and high school, we only said it in Homeroom of at an assembly.
