When I was a teen we lived in a place that had one big house that had smaller rentals around it.The big house had two huge pecan trees in the yard so We always had pecans.

There were hazelnuts on the creek bank at my grandmother's place.It fascinated me as a child to learn about them being edible.

When I was driving out in the country I often stopped and picked up black walnuts.When I got home I would just throw them out beside my driveway.I now have a walnut tree there that needs to be cut down.BUT I hate to lose the nuts that now supply my family a cheap source of nuts.
