Under Pennsylvania Law, Court-Ordered Spousal Support will end automatically upon the Death of the Paying Spouse.
It does not automatically transfer to your estate. However, financial support post-husband's Death shifts to the SSA federal system through Survivor Widow Benefits.
You would then Call the Social Security Administration Immediately and report the Death, because You cannot apply for Widow Survivor Benefits online.
Contact the SSA directly by calling 1-800-772-1213 to report the death and Schedule an Appointment to file your claim for part of His Social Security from his Work Record.
You would need your Marriage Certificate and other I.D. the SSA may request.
Also ask About the Lump-Sum Small Payment: Be sure to ask the SSA Representative about the one-time $255.00 Lump-Sum Death Payment you may be entitled to for any Burial Expenses.
