I know a couple where they just got married at a church and invited a small number of family and friends to eat dinner in one room of a restaurant afterwards so their wedding cost less than $4,000. They didn't want anything elaborate since they are saving up for a down payment on a house. Their priority is owning a house with a decent backyard since they want to have a couple of children and they'll need a yard to play in.
