Before my mom married dad, she was a hairdresser so yes she gave all us girls perms and she gave herself perms too. I hated them and probably only had a few between age 11-13. Two of my sisters had mom continue giving them perms into their 30s, I don't know how they could stand the smell of the perm lotion or how it felt like it was burning our heads.
