VW Tiguan 2.0 CFFB 2012 - Mystery Coolant loss? #

Year of Manufacture: 2012
Engine Size and Code: 2.0 diesel / CFFB

Mystery coolant loss?
No apparent external leakage!

Loses about 1 litre over a period of 1 month!

Customer has noted that the engine seems louder than normal (after NoX ECM update)

Coincidence??????

Suspecting a cooler failure?

Several on this..... EGR cooler / Transmission cooler / Oil filter cooler

Take your pick or might there be demons????

Can you not pressure test the coolers, or bypass one at a time for short period

No coolant loss observed during weekly running with EGR cooler bypass!

EGR cooler bypass removed & vehicle back to O.E

Weekly running has now developed into a entire coolant reservoir of coolant loss within 5 miles of running????

Also observed is that the engine oil level has drastically increased & is way above the maximum mark. Yes we have been monitoring the engine oil level in conjunction with the coolant level over the period of the symptoms first developing & the oil level had always remained at a consistent correct level.

Bear in mind that this is a 4 motion 4x4 animal & the transfer box is covering access to the EGR valve!!

Seems like a lot of work unless someone out there knows of a shortcut????

egr can be removed without removal of bevel box but drop subframe complete with steering rack on this one, dpf will then will drop out and access ok then (but oil drain pipe from turbo will need to be removed.
