Ford Transit Connect 1.8 2011 - Blocked DPF #

Year of Manufacture: 2011
Engine Size and Code: 1800. P7PB/BHPA

Hi. I am looking for a wee bit education.. blocked Dpf. Unable to regenerate. Removed and cleaned and reset. Sorry but can’t remember codes ( at home just now) but both coded related to too much soot accumulation. On data Dpf 1 pressure 280kpa and Dpf 2 480kpa Once cleaned dpf1 10 Kpa and 35 at 3000 revs. Dpf 2 is at 285kpa and stays there when reved Only got one Dpf half way long the car. Vaporiser not blocked. Can anyone enlighten me what the Dpf 2 reading means. Over 45 years in this trade and it’s not getting any easier. Thanks for looking

Hi can't be 100% sure but I had one of these with a similar fault as this it was a while ago but turned out you need to change pressure sensor to get to be able to do re gen hope this may help.
I too 30 plus years and it no easier lol

You know that feeling when you are not thinking about the problem then something springs into your mind. Dpf 2 May be the measurement of the pressure behind the Dpf and that being the case the figure is wrong. Sorry if that was the obvious answer 😉 The pressure was checked before and after Dpf with the pressure after the Dpf was basically zero. I was going to check the sensor signal wire but for those of you that have done one you will know where it is mounted. That is what I don’t understand about designers. What is wrong with extending the pipes up to the baulkhead much like the VAG range. This one is half way up behind all the abs pipes. Difficult to get into from top or bottom. If I am wrong about this please tell me. Despite my age I am still in the learning mode Thanks for your reply Stephen

Hi Les,
Have you checked the readings at KOEO? Have you done a new DPF calibration and possibly a Differential Pressure Sensor calibration depending on the KOEO test.

Sorry for not getting back. On holiday. The readings with KOEO WAS DPF 1 zero and Dpf 2 was the same high reading. This is not a fix but customer came back and said the van has never went so well. I did say to him that I would think that the problem will come back but did try and tell him that every so often he will need to drive as instructed. We will see
