VW Toureg 3.0 BKS 2006 - Broken glowplug removal service - Unresolved #

Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: 3.0 BKS

I have two glow plugs broken off in the head on this. Can anyone recommend a a good company offering a removal service on these please?
I am on the Kent/Sussex/Surrey border in Edenbridge.

If there is room to get a drill in, get yourself a glow plug removal kit, It's not such a bad job to do yourself

Hi Chris,
As an Autoelectrician I normally don't get involved, as I know what a nightmare they can be if they have been in for a while and the installer put them in dry.
Typically, I'm just trying to help the Landlord out.
How do these kits work? I presume you drill the element out and then screw in an extractor tool. Any advice useful.

Yeah the kits come with a special drill bit that drills out the threaded section, then you tap it out and use a puller.

Unfortunately that kit is not what I need as the body came out leaving the tip in the head.

Thanks Kev,
I've heard of Tony before, he's AP Autodiagnostics I believe. He has an excellent reputation but it's a long trek to North Yorkshire From West Kent. In fact I think I'm only about 20 miles from you.

Hello Shaun, bit of a risk but I’ve removed the tip of the glow plug a couple of times like this, (in desperation)! Move the piston away from t.d.c. & with a perfect size pin punch knock the tip into the cylinder (they’re hollow & very thin walled). Remove the injector, turn engine till valves are shut on that cylinder, put air blower into glow plug hole & hopefully catch the tip as it comes out of the injector hole. Worked every time for me (so far).

Thank You all for your replies.
The customer decided to sell the vehicle as it also had problems with 3 door latches and a door control module. So someone's traded in a pile of junk.
