Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 2011 - Blocked DPF, code P244C temp low during re-gen - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2011
Engine Size and Code *: 200
( Optional ) Scanner Used: launch

as above taxi , came in with blocked dpf codes & this code fitted new dpf & this code returns after a fair drive cycle
This car has fuel vaporizer in down pipe,was blocked ,now cleaned out & have actuated pump & diesel flows
During road test live data reveals both DPF temps rise from 200ish degrees C to approx 580 at same time the heating element"glow plug" is switched to active , after approx 3 miles it appears to "give up" the heating process & engine malfunction comes up.
EGR appears closed in live data ,yet to physically check ,could this be the manifold cat not lighting up correctly?
at this point it has not re-gened & soot loading's increase, has anyone experienced this ,any ideas helpfull ,keith

Can I presume it was a non-genuine DPF...

The only time our Ford tech replaces a DPF, is on ones that have been replaced with non-gen.
All the others he fixes with vapouriser/glow-plug replacement, PCM update and forced regen.

yes tony non gen,but the original dpf had the low temp code too,i previously managed a re-gen with old dpf but still had P244C

have you any idea of expected flow rate from vapouriser pump?

If I remember correctly:
He normally places a drain tub under the vehicle and operates the vaporizer pump using IDS. If fuel comes out, he's happy.
The trick is testing the vaporizer injector. To test he uses a mity-vac. Place vac the pipe over the injector nozzle. Any vacuum build up whatsoever, in any way, is a restriction. This requires a new vaporizer.

Just make sure the wiring to the exhaust temperature sensors is good. There is a known concern for wiring braking just by the multi-plugs.

Unfortunately, I can't find any reference for testing on ETIS, but it's not my brand, so I'm a little rusty searching for info, sorry.

Done a few of these now and it's always the vaporizer unit at fault, not enough vaporized fuel to heat the dpf.

the flow from the pump is quite low, when priming with ids it just says use a container with a minimum capacity of 500ml and is run for 2 minutes. IIRC the actual amount was less than that.

Had several of these which only flag a fault with the vaporiser after a software update is done.

Non gen DPF removed & returned, hopefully to put it where the sun don't shine.

Gen DPF fitted, problem solved, don't need to tell you guys where it came from

I do not understand how garages here can continue to use ECP, I was looking through Ford trade club catalogue earlier today, genuine DPF's are not out of the ballpark on price, same as petrol cats, yes cheaper than rubbish you buy from a factor, but will get a Po420 code in a month
