Ford Kuga 2.0 2010 - Excessive white smoke #

lot of time and money and no one to turn too..

Hello help please. fault excessive white smoke on cold start up and slight hesitation between 1800 and 2000 rpm until warm, things tested injectors, fuel, compression, check for any hcs in expansion bottle, separate fuel supply as there was slight bubbles of air in fuel lines but still cold start white smoke, the dpf has been removed and mapped before the customer bought to us, I have done a software update but think now he will have to remap for dpf or replace dpf. typical French engine loads of faults but no remedy.
any help would be appreciated

Is there any coolant loss ? or is this definately unburnt fuel ?

I had this issue with a Toyota Avensis just recently but with a diesel knock type sound, new injectors cured my issue.

This seemed to start on 3 (ish) cylinders until just off cold.

I think I'd get a second test on the injectors. I find this company very reliable and honest.

There was a TSB for poor cold start, poor cold running on Kuga (TSB 13/2012) which required the use of a fuel additive being used - 1 786 569

Add 1 bottle to 1/4 tank
add 2 bottles to 1/2-3/4 tank
add 3 bottles to Full tank

Drive the vehicle around the car park with lots of stop/start to "slosh the fuel around the tank"
Allow engine to idle for 1 hour
Then drive as normal.

Blimey, never seen a manufacturer condone use of an additive before, most of them expressivly ban the use of them, surely, this should have been a software update !!

Two things spring to mind with the additive.

It's either to remove installation debris, or bacteria which has gotten in during the assembly process.
I've only ever used it once, and surprisingly it worked.
