Peugeot Expert 1.9 WJY 2002 - Non start after replacement fuel pump - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2002 -AJ02LHC Engine Size and Code *: 1900-WJY-LUCAS PUMP ( Optional ) Scanner Used: KTS 650 ( Optional) Fault Codes: None
I have a 2002 wjy engined peugeot expert which broke down on me on the way to work 2 weeks ago. Ive used our kts to check for codes and there are none atall, the week before it cut out i noticed there was a harsh rumbling sound from what i thought was the alternator/aux belt tensioner which i was going to sort at a later date. Towed the van back to work and the van would run then cut out, tried various parts darts as it is my own van first(crank sensor/fuel filter/temp sender) just to get it going asap.
In the end after speaking to my colleagues we agree that the noise is actually coming from the fuel pump (which was very noisy), i then order a second hand one which i fitted with a new cambelt and waterpump. Only after i fit the 'new' secondhand one it doesnt start, turns over lovely but no fuel out the back of the pump atall. I then looked on auto data and checked the feeds to the stop solenoid are ok and the fuel pump relay on the inner wing and they are all fine. I spoke to another garage that we use at times and i was told that i need to cut and swap the stop solenoid wires over as the pumps are coded? What i cant understand is why would cutting wires make the stop solenoid open when my switched live is work fine? How can this pump be coded when theres no module on the back under the armour cover??? Im losing the will to live on this one seriously, plus the wife is giving me a hard time over it.

Two questions:
1) how many wires are on the stop solenoid (can you post a photo)
2) Does it try to run with a sniff?

That is a coded solenoid, How do you think it works with a your findings.
A solenoid only needs a +12v and earth.

I second the above, its a coded system !!
As far as I recall you should be able to re-work it with a standard solenoid as I don't think its part of a closed loop system.Modern cars, Its all wizardry and witchcraft

You don't have to remove the pump to either swap or change the solenoid.
you could fit a standard stop solenoid and just re-wire it accordingly.Modern cars, Its all wizardry and witchcraft

The stop solenoid on this one is covered by some sort of anti theft armour which is hard to get off with the pump still on unfortunately. Cant even see it.
