Ive used our kts to check for codes and there are none atall, the week before it cut out i noticed there was a harsh rumbling sound from what i thought was the alternator/aux belt tensioner which i was going to sort at a later date.
Towed the van back to work and the van would run then cut out, tried various parts darts as it is my own van first(crank sensor/fuel filter/temp sender) just to get it going asap.
In the end after speaking to my colleagues we agree that the noise is actually coming from the fuel pump (which was very noisy), i then order a second hand one which i fitted with a new cambelt and waterpump.
Only after i fit the 'new' secondhand one it doesnt start, turns over lovely but no fuel out the back of the pump atall. I then looked on auto data and checked the feeds to the stop solenoid are ok and the fuel pump relay on the inner wing and they are all fine.
I spoke to another garage that we use at times and i was told that i need to cut and swap the stop solenoid wires over as the pumps are coded?
What i cant understand is why would cutting wires make the stop solenoid open when my switched live is work fine?
How can this pump be coded when theres no module on the back under the armour cover???
Im losing the will to live on this one seriously, plus the wife is giving me a hard time over it.
