Hi Richard - had one of these in back in October also with the ECU having a swim in a pool of water/leaves & debris in the scuttle panel. Also with a miss-fire. Checked injectors first and then found the ECU in that state when I went to volt drop the wiring.
Personally I wouldn't put an ECU that has had a soaking and showed signs of water damage back in a car: we had our ECU apart and you could see where the water ingress had accelerated the corrosion on the inside of the casing; also a USB microscope showed damaged tracks on the PCB, which you wouldn't have been able to see easily with the name eye. Game over as far as I am concerned.
We put a new ECU in using Tech 2/MDI and it's been spot on since. I think the new ECU was about £800 from Vauxhall (could be wrong?). Car was a 58 plate and low mileage so didn't mess around with alternatives. You will need the vehicles car pass to put a new one in.
Hope this helps, Barney.

I think you'll find most members of this forum are against having ecu's repaired or even tested as 90% of the time no fault is found but fitting a genuine new ecu has ooften cured the fault.
Maybe speak to Allvox to see if they have a good used/reset ecu.

I've just fitted an ecu to one of these due to previous water damage. The ecu was on back order - in fact Vauxhall had 300 orders on back order. I'm not saying its definitely that but there is clearly an issue with these. You'd do better tossing a coin for an answer rather than ecu testing companies.

We have replaced 4 in the last few months due to water ingress. We still have two on order (Back order) - There was around 1000 on back order across UK & Germany around Christmas time!
We're against sending for repair, but one customer 'googled' the issue & informed me that ECU Testing.com can repair these with water damage. I was sceptical but sent it to them, 1 week later... Too damaged to repair! So the car is still sat in the yard waiting for a nice shiny new one!
