Saab 93 Z19DT 2007 - Will not rev, code P2279 - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: 1900 Z19DT
( Optional ) Scanner Used: VAUX COM
( Optional) Fault Codes: P2279

Hi,
Had this one towed in to me and it want rev up .
fault code P2279 air take air leak.
Checked all air hoses/vacuum hoses. Looked in live data and every thing looks fine including maf only thing is throttle body staying on 0%. Tested throttle body, tested egr. Cleaned and tested turbo including actuator. Removed front pipe to dpf and it reved so cleaned dpf with kent dpf cleaner refitted and set zeros in ecu, test drove and still not much power But better, removed egr exhaust pipe going into inlet and it runs fine.
Cleaned egr and tested with Vaux com and scoped duty cycle and power and its working fine. Only thing I noticed is the engine seems very smoking/blue smoke like over fueling.
Tested injector leak offs and they seem in tolerance, looked at correction factors in live data and I have 1/215 mg/stroke 2/115 mg/stroke 3/-015 mg/stroke 4/-025 mg/stroke all at idle.
I have removed injectors and sent for tested.
Any advice please.

It may just be the way it is written but surely it point,s to an exhaust blockage.

Hi,
Kev That was my thoughts as well, but I also pulled off the front cat and tried it like that but still no power, seems to choke up engine through egr

As i said above maybe the way it,s written, but it came in no revs and with the front pipe removed it rev,s OK.
I,m not sure why you think removing the front pipe allows it to rev and that point,s you to an injector fault.

ps As a Tech 2 owner i don,t use vaux com does it actually list a 93 ? SAAB did like to mess with system,s as supplied in Vuaxhalls.

When DPF pipe removed it did rev up, but it has a miss low down and no boost. When Cat removed no difference, but when EGR removed the full power returns.
I use Vaux com as its the same engine and it seems to comm ok, I have used it to do regens on this car and it operates egr and throttle body ok.
Went for injectors because my way of thinking is the engine is over fueling causing blue smoke and the egr is letting fumes in to inlet and causing engine to choke. I checked the engine breather and seems ok.

Hi all,
I had two faulty injectors and I fitted vauxhall egr valve.
Lesson learned only fit original parts as factors are rubbish

.

I,m confused, there is no mention of your even fitting any parts to this, genuine, pattern or even S/Hand.
How are your "poor customer,s" ever going to afford genuine parts?

I had this in about 6 weeks previous as a non start. I diagnosed faulty egr valve and fitted an after market part which was fuel parts. The car started and ran fine so didn't think it was relevant to this fault.
Kev not everyone is poor in our community but there is a lot of unemployment.
My point is if a customer can't afford a new part then you have to go secondhand and explain there's no warranty on the job done.

Info that should have been in your original post,
why do you ask for help then put a blindfold on those that could help ?

Do you really think fitting S/hand parts will actually save them money in the long run ?
Try reading your old posts.

As for FOOL PARTS, no surprise there. Don,t expect them to accept a warranty claim.

Any mention of Fuel Parts gets a not very polite no thanks from me! Customer wont save any money and you get loads of grief, even if it was free. I only made that mistake once and that was once too often!
