Ford Mondeo 2.2 TDCi 2006 - Code P132B Loss of power #

Engine Size and Code *: 2.2 tdci
( Optional ) Scanner Used: dec super scan

Hi all
Have a mondeo 2.2 tdci with an intermitent problem. Customer is on holiday for the weekend, driving up here on the motorway passing a truck and the car went into limp home and glow plug light was flashing. Ive retrieved 2 fault codes, P132B boost pressure signal improbable and P0400 EGR excessive flow. Reading in the archives the turbo actuators give alot of problems. This is a vgt with an electronic actuator. My question is would the egr problem cause the P132B code to be set. I gave the vehicle a long road test to replicate the problem but it drove fine, the boost pressure at maximum boost was about 2.5 bar. Any advice would be great.

egr valves a pain
clear fault codes blank egr that should point you in the right direction with any luck.

unsure what codes will set with faulty egr but have had them fault for turbo when playing up.

presume live data ok for boost pressure sensor.

I've had two of these setting P132B, both needed turbo's as the actuator which is usually the cause is not available seperately.Neither of mine was flagging EGR codes though?

There was a very long thread discussing this code and problem about a year ago if you do a forum search.

Thanks for the replies, i removed the egr valve today it wasnt too clogged up though. Cleaned it out and did an actuator test and it was working. When i road tested it yesterday the boost pressure was as expected. The egr valve was moving according to the feed back sensor, but it wasnt moving as much as i would of expected, it was only 4mm at maximum on over run. Ive put it back together and give it back to the customer for the weekend as he is up on holiday, comming back in on tuesday.

Hi all
Customer came back in today he used the vehicle over the weekend and it went fine. Hooked up to the engine ecu and there was no faults stored. He's gone home now so hopefully everything is o.k. I think that possibly the egr fault could of triggered the P132B code. Thanks for the replies.
