Renault Espace

Year of Manufacture *: 2004
Engine Size and Code *: 2.2DCI G9T
( Optional ) ECU Type: Bosch
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Autodiagnos/Dec Superscan
( Optional) Fault Codes: P1815

Engine was swapped at garage, old engine had rod hanging out of the block, now has fault code P1815 which will clear, but returns without starting engine.
Have replaced MAF sensor, boost pressure sensor, EGR, checked continuity between MAF and ECU, all MAF supplies and earth.
All live data looks OK, but vehicle is in limp mode.
Has anyone had this problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tested turbo operating system?

Hi David,
Yes it's vacuum operated, after posting this I read on another web-site that fault code P1815 is wrongly described by some aftermarket diagnostic equipment.
So the control solenoid valve was swapped, but fault code still there
It comes back without the engine being started, I am beginning to think the ECU may be at fault.

Fault was traced to a break in the engine wiring loom, between the ECU and waste-gate actuator control valve.

Got side tracked by the fault code description given by Snap-On and Dec showing P1815 as inlet air control circuit.
