Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi 2002 - Injector seals replaced, now non start #

Year of Manufacture *: 2002
Engine Size and Code *: 1.4tdci
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Snap on

Just dragged this from customers house he has put a set of injector seals on himself now it wont run, had scanner on with no faults logged no fuel to injectors and no signal (thats if they should be one ) at injectors noid light plugged in,all fuses ok inertia switch ok, am I correct that these should pick a signal up from cam and crank before it gets a pulse, to kick in injectors

If you search this forum with the search term 'Fiesta', you could spend a day reading about the delicate nature of the injectors on the 1.4 TDCi.They just cannot stand being disturbed.My guess is that you'll need a new set.

Yes I have read a lot but new injectors will not activate pump when they is no presure

How did you find out there is no fuel at the injectors? I would definatly be looking at fuel pressure in live data with this, your noid test won't show anything as I'm sure these injectors are approx 70v

Done a couple of these that required a "snifter" of easy start after washer replacement, to clear the air out.

I slackened pipes off at fuel rail no fuel coming out when engine turned over, also no fuel from return pipes when turned over.

Hi Stuart. Might be stating the obvious here but if the pipes have been off the fuel may have run back to tank. Same symptom as changing fuel filter without plugging pipes.Have you tried pumping fuel up manually?. I usually put a hand primer in line and pump away while someone turns the engine over. Not trying to tell your granny how to suck eggs

if the live data reads something like 298bar fuel rail pressure all the time check the round multi plug connection for the injector loom in case he's bent a pin by being a bit klunch refitting it, that'll do it

When I told customer we had to strip it down and trace what he had done, he expected us to get our crystal ball out and diagnose it without any cost to him,so off it went on a tow rope to some other mug

The ones we have done and had problems with, all start but lack power, resulting in new injectors. We always pre warn customer now, and keep our fingers crossed.
