Citroen Berlingo 1.8 2002 - Heavy diesel knock - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 52 plate
Engine Size and Code *: 1.8 non turbo

van came in with heavy diesel knock customer and rac thought it was big ends but when you rev it up the knock is not as bad, cracked open injector pipes to isolate which cylinder but no difference, so removed glow plugs to see if one looked damp compared to others all the same, so took injectors out all looked the same so put it all back together and knock has gone any ideas what ive done ?

I suspect advance solonid was stuck causing what my customer called "tractoring" when it happened to his.
Ours needed new solonoid to cure.

thanks steve is the soleniod on the pump or a vacuum operated unit seperate from pump

Hi paul

Did you find any fault codes or see anything odd in the serial data from this vehicle whilst it was playing up?

Hi Paul
Solonoid on bottom of pump . Seem to recollet pump had to be removed to access. part was about £140.00 total bill was about £400.00. Just done same on Rover45 but did this in situ.

Found fault turned out to be a broken wire at the solenoid connector which was making and breaking thanks for your help
