This has come here after two dealers, still under warranty.
car starts ok (not great)idles ok when you drive it it is completely flat untill it goes over 3000 revs
then it goes as if someone set fire to it(wish they would)
every thing has been changed before it got here
turbo(new), injectors(new)boost pressure controller(new), amm(new)it has also had the following components swapped from a new good source, EGR, throttle control flap, cat, vacuum pump
this was all done before we saw the car, we have monitored all of these systems again no faults stored or found
when the car takes off it dumps all vacuum controlling the turbo, this is the only reaction to the car taking off i can see, the boost pressure sits at 1.2 bar then within 1.5seconds jumps to 2.2bar on a scope it is not spiking it is a gradual curve,the variable vane turbo is new and free(not sticking) the actuator works fine the fuel pressure builds gradually and peaks at the same time as the boost, no holes or discrepancy in the duty cycle of the egr or amm(digital)or the signal to the turbo controller, the vacuum pressure is constant and good.the ecu software is up to date.
i am thinking next i need to monitor the lambda sensor, have not had much to do with diesel lambda sensors yet, do the function as awide band sensor or are they completely different(i assume they measure oxygen content)how much difference do they make to the fueling, i generally dont work on petrol cars but i do read with interest that one guru likes to use amps and other guru like to use volts or even just live data(havent got any live data relating to lambda even in eobd)so some indication of what to measure and how to measure would be great
or a silver bullet for me or the car

p.s. it is bad all of the time but is virtually undrivable from cold
pps, would you consider throttle pedal?

Reason I ask is that I had a car the other day that had a recon turbo fitted and the variable vane rod had not been set correctly. As a consequence when giving WOT from low down the vacuum was dumped but the vanes didn't move to the extent they should. This meant the car had no power low down but was fine from about 3k upwards as this is when the vane angle starts to decrease.
