VW Turan AVQ 2004 - Brake light on all the time - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2004
Engine Size and Code *: AVQ
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Solus
( Optional) Fault Codes: 16955

Brake lights staying on all the time replace switch and same problem check all fuses check switch function on solus looks to be working perfectly finding it difficult to get wiring diagram please help

Still the switch I would have thought I have seen and done this myself and figured if you put the switch into the housing with the brake pedal depressed then let the pedal come up and touch the switch itself to set it everything then is ok i'm sure there is possible a correct vag procedure but this way seems to work for me you will find tps and gsf keep a few in stock for this reason

Check the brake switch and replaced with second new one incase faulty and checked its operation on solus brake electrics and fitted switch as you said no differance

Awful job to get right, however last time i did one was as follows. Make sure pedal is not depressed. Insert switch into slot ensuring correct alignment. Turn slightly clockwise. Connect electrical block. Brake lights will be on. Apply a little more clockwise pressure until click is felt. Brake lights go off and switch should operate correctly

maybe we both do it wrong as I just found this also as far as I'm aware switch has 2 circuits 1 for ecu and 1 for brake lights I maybe wrong but this seems to be a fairly common problem

I have had this same fault disconect the switch on the clutch master cly its a 3pin conector not easy to get too reset the system Had to replace with new master cly not a god job hope it helps pete

Checked the connection on rear of clutch master cylinder connection, burned out and fuse no 7 blown in no2 fuse box disconnected clutch switch and replaced fuse and brake lights off just ordered new clutch switch
