Nissan Navara 2.5 2003 - Injection pump remove & refit #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Size and Code *: 2.5 YD25DDTi

Need to remove diesel injection pump for repair or replace. I understand that timing cover removal involves sump removal and therefore seperating geabox. Is this necessary to remove and refit pump?

Fit times I have found show 4.4 for cover and 3.5 for pump.

Timing marks for chain are behind cover but it is not difficult to find TDC on comp stroke. Any one been here before?

There is a outer cover that can be removed quite easly I can email you the procedure if you need it but it is straight forward enough.

If you have to drop sump remove diff its easier than gearbox[just unbolts]

If you had to remove the sump(which you don't to remove the pump), you would still need to split the gearbox away as there are two bolts inside the bell housing.

We drilled two access holes in base of bell housing to access the bolts that hold the rear of sump to the rear main oil seal carrier and used grommets to seal up worked a treat

Thanks for that Mark. Classic case of looking for a problem that dosn't exist. Hadn't twigged that top cover is seperate.
