Peugeot 407 1.6 HDi - MIL on, turbo fault #

Engine Code or CC *: 1.6hdi

Hi Lads!
I've got a tricky one here....Customer brought car from auction with MIL on. Found turbo to be blown up, so fitted new turbo. Now I have vehicle back together, the turbo is trying to produce too much boost pressure and sounds like it wants to blow again. I have no fault codes and live data is not very helpful on the solus. I have replaced boost pressure control valve and boost pressure sensor, but still no joy. I wonder whether the intercooler and run on flap units on induction pipes are to blame?

Hope someone can help shed some light.

Sam if it was overboosting then it would go straight into limp home

Is the cat and dpf blocked with oil from the old turbo failure . drop the cat off the turbo and see what its like then

If the car went on the road it would go strait into limp home. I have checked for tail pipe pressure and the seems to be alot, as if its clear but i will try that just to be sure.Looking at it again in the morning so i will let you know.

Hi Sam

What make you think it is trying to over boost ? sound, actual pressure of live data ?

It is sound more than anything really. I took one of the butterflys out and it is alot better!! Got a new unit on order at £300. Spoke to peugeot boys thismornig and they say that they are always going wrong but with different simptoms, a, because they rattle and b, because they stick shut. There is two flaps, one don,t open and the other rattles and sticks. Will inform you of the outcome tomorrow when the new bit turns up. Sam
