Jeep Cherokee 2.5 CRD 2002 KJ - Sluggish on acceleration, multiple codes #

Hi Guys.
I am suspecting an ECU problem on this but I would value any input.
This motor is a little sluggish on acceleration but other than that it drives ok until it suddenly shuts down and stops and willl not re-start - only when you put your foot down/demand more power and it is totally random. Leave it for 20 seconds and it will re-start.
Fault codes are many & varied:
P1130: rail pressure monitering leakage.
P0190: fuel press sensor - signal too high.
P0836: 4 wheel switch faulty.
P0110: IAT sensor too high.
P0235: Boost press sensor signal too low.
Cleared faults and road tested - engine cut out. P1130, P0190 & P0110 re-logged.
Both IAT and Coolant temps at 215 Deg & rpm at 200 on live data. Not sure if KTS is telling porkies or the ECU isn't processing the info.

just road tested again - after cutting out only P1130 logged. I don't think that should cause the engine to cut out.
Does anyone have any pin data for these?

Hi yes it can cause the vehicle to cut out.

So does this mean we could be looking at a faulty rail press sensor then. There are no leaks evident!

The last one I had doing this was caused by a blocked fuel filter.It looked good and there was hardly any bits in the bowl (Voyager 2.5CRD). The dealer had put a fuel pressure sensor on it with no fix.

Please check fuel supply and quality, power and grounds on ecu and components, fuel back leakage

Hi guys & thanks for your input.
I'm pretty confident the fuel supply is good but I have just found out that one of the injetors was leaking and was resolved by a garage (not us) stripping and re-building it! They didn't fit a new HP pipe but, although there is a little dampness on the injector, there is no leak (ie: dripping fuel or puddles of diesel).
Both KTS and Snap-on showing CTS and IAT sensors at 215 deg. Also both showing rpm at 200 at idle when the true rpm is around 900. Having trouble locating the sensors in question but I'm not sure if my equipment is processing the info correctly. Live data is usually pretty good on petrol variants.
I have not been able to properly check feeds/earths to the ecu as I have no pin data for this vehicle.

After you have spent 10hrs checking everything else you might check it.

You will probably find the ecu pin data is similar to chrysler voyager. Cts will be around 0.5-0.8 volts when hot, check at ecu end of wire, if this reading is close to voltage stated it is probably live data wrong, disconnect sensor and see if readings change, ecu usually reliable unless mistreated.

Hi Paul,
Did you get a fix to this.
I went to another garage today as their Snappy scanner would not communicate with it.
This one would run for aprox 15 - 20 mins then shut down.
Only code was IAT signal too low.
I found the same IAT, CTS & idle speed as you.
Also the map sensor reading at 255Kpa.
Map reading would not alter even when engine speed increased.
IAT sensor removed, cleaned of gunge and refitted with no change to readings, New sensor fitted, also with no change to readings.

Even with the combined IAT/map/boost sensor plug and the CTS plug disconnected, readings still showed CT 215, IAT 215 deg and Map 255Kpa.

I did find a dirty earth connection on N/S inner wing, so cleaned & reconnected.
Spoke to garage owner after I left and he said the car ran for over an hour without shutting down.
Wondering what your fix was .. if any??

its a software issue, if the Rpm is saying 200 can you trust on any of the data?
