I would say if you use the smoke /pressure tester correct it will display any leaks without fail. Most turbo diesel or petrols in standard tune will generate boost pressure around 10 to 17 psi. if your machine can generate this pressure,why will not show the same leak that boost pressure will. I always test turbo systems in two parts , remove the inlet pipe from the manifold and disconnect the pipe from the MAF / filter end. fit a blanking plug at the MAF end and then apply pressure /smoke at the other end. (depending on crank case breahter design you may also need to blank of these pipes also) how can this not find any leak? once happy with this side , now connect into the manifold carryout the same test. surely this will confirm no external leaks on the induction system , or I'm missing something here if so please tell me what...
