Hi Tony, done one on a vectra, pig of a job but managed without removing injection pump. It required removing all studs because of length they won't allow manifold back far enough, I also had to cut 2 or 3 studs off by moving manifold back an inch. It then fouls a housing on top of common rail pump which is held on with torx screws, I removed housing and sealed off to prevent any dirt. It then requires manifold lowering into position and new studs fitting, again 1 or 2 studs need to be entered into manifold beforehand due to small clearance. Hope this makes sense, probably clearer when doing job. I can't be sure the astra is same though. Good luck btw Pierburg have some useful info on the manifold system and is worth studying before doing the job, just google it.
