The above came in on the back of a wagon with fuel leaking from the pump at the front of the engine. We removed the pump and fitted a complete seal kit. We've got the vehicle running and there's no longer a diesel leak but there is what I think is a fuel pressure related fault. The vehicle will tick over all day but hold the revs at around 3000 and it will cut dead. After much testing today I removed the multi plug from the pressure switch on the end of the fuel rail. It would run at 3000 rpm all day and not cut out but it's in a type of limp mode and the revs won't go much higher than that. I don't know if the switch is at fault or the pressure is too high in the system making it cut out. The codes we can get out of this have been checked out and weren't much help.No live data on any of the scanners we've got.
Has anyone come across this before? The fact that the seals blew makes it look like a pressure issue.
