FIX: Ford Focus 1.8TDCi 2002 WFONXXGCDN2J55313 Archived Message

Hi everyone and thanks for the replies and info etc.
Sorry I didn't post the FIX before this - December was busier than usual.

Michael - yes it still had and in fact still has the same fault code BUT you are correct - a new DMF cured it - Hoorah.

The DMF had thrown a huge amount of grease into the bell housing and consequently had a huge amount of rotational slack, either allowing it to be very out of balance in certain positions or more likely had a lump of grease left in one place. I suppose this would happen worst when cold. After driving/clutch use had warmed the grease it would perhaps spread around but pool at the bottom and solidify when cooling??

Well I'm pleased it's out of the workshop and my hair but it's one of those jobs which certainly didn't make any money!
Does everyone get these or is it just me?
    Anyhow, thanks again.
    Cheers,
    Duncan
