Spent some time on this last night after the phone had stopped ringing.Started looking for a problem with out checking the basics correctly.There was 12v at the main charge wire but the wire had corroded and was only attached by a couple of wires at the other end where it attached onto the starter motor(just like they do on escorts and fiestas)so couldn't cope with the load of the alternator.Crimped a new terminal on and guess what, charging ok.Teach me to check the basics correctly!
