I think this is a valid question. It does seem to be a generally accepted rule that PSA require working glow plugs to re gen. However I don't believe this is true of all make as I have seen other systems that happily re-gen while having glow plug errors logged.
Regarding message on dash, how many miles has this done ? there is one dash message on PSA that relates to DPF service life, sorry cant remember exact wording but that can only be cleared by running 'new dpf fitted' command on scanner.
It may be worth physically cleaning the DPF and then running the 'new dpf' command.
defo worth getting other glow plugs sorted (easier said than done I guess) to ensure a long term fix.
