History.
Vehicle presented 5 months ago with a completely blocked DPF (Had to be towed)
The sensing pipes had failed (Not sure if this was cause or effect)
DPF was replaced along with sensing tubes and a full service. All fault codes cleared successfully.
All was fine until last week. MIL on and sudden loss of performance.
When I saw car, The sump was heavily contaminated with fuel (Probably several litres or more, IE multiple regen attempts)
The PCM reported the last successful regen at 160 miles previously with a failed one more recently.
I have changed the oil, reset the service counter and carried out a "limited" attempt to de-soot the DPF (On the Ford it is possible to fit it back to front and rev the engine a bit, a bit messy but did a reasonable job! )
However, the two above faults (Relating to DPF Soot/Ash contamination) simply will not clear .
The light goes out and immediately comes back on again even when the engine isn't running.
I didn't have this difficulty last time even when the car was a non-runner.
So, what is happening here and how can I resolve it?
Oh, and another thing, While the Foxwell does cover DPF functions on a wide range of manufacturers, (And is actually an astonishingly capable tool for the £250 that I paid for it. Knocks my older and considerably more expensive tools into a parallel universe!) Bizarrely, it doesn't cover Ford. ATM I do not have the means to force a regen on Fords. Anybody suggest an inexpensive tool that might allow me to do this?
Regards,
Paul
