Is there a rule of thumb with diesel injector leak off measurements?

I have come across vehicles with what I would call extreme differences & very unbalanced leak off but run great with no issues or faults!!!

I know some systems cannot be tested with this method due to high leak off pressure return.

It would be nice to know how to identify system that can be tested & cannot & what rule of thumbs there is if there is such a thing.
