What I should have said is that the pump is not a lift/supply pump, but just a transfer pump. Sorry I did not read the previous posts properly

Freelander 2 , 2.2 tdci don't have an electric lift pump.
Liam, inlet flap is quite common for non start.

. The high pressure pump has a suction pump on it. They can be a bit awkard to bleed when changing fuel filters.
