Hi all !
I have a customer with a Transporter that has done 200,000 miles and is driving OK but has rattles in the cam area and an intermittent 'thumping' sound like it is firing back up the inlet.
I have not yet started taking it apart to investigate, but wondered if anyone had experience with this. I am nervous that in getting involved with replacing cams etc will put further strain on other parts and it will come back wanting an engine.

Strip down and repair or quote for engine ?
