Looking for some advice on this one.
This is my father in laws car and he has the following issue;
When leaving the car more than 24hrs, lets say over the weekend it is very difficult to start, it will fire and cough and splutter but not run properly.
I have looked at live data, and the rail pressure ramps up quickly on turnover but doesnt match desired.
I have looked at the low pressure supply, this has an in tank pump.
What I have noticed is that when running the pump with the scanner it seems to have reasonable flow, but I did pop off the return and only a dribble is coming back to the tank when running the pump with the scanner.
Does anyone know what pressure the in tank pump should put out?
I think it is struggling to pump the fuel through the filter, so cannot properly prime the system for a cold start.
The car starts easily if used every day.
There are no fault codes logged.
Thanks in advance.
Liam.
