Here I was thinking I had a straight forward job! Vehicle is a non runner, scoped the sensor and I have 5v on one wire, 0v on another and the third wire I have 600mv, crank the engine no signal on any wire, give the engine a quick sniff and it runs fine. Purchased a new sensor (Intermotor
) and have exactly the same results. Tried both old and new sensors by passing a magnet and a piece of metal while scoping and still no signal. Returned Intermotor sensor and tried a Lucas sensor, same results! Looking at wiring info for this engine and it seams that there are a number of different voltage values applied to them i.e. some are 12v and some are 5v. Is it possible that I have been supplied twice with the wrong sensor?? Sorry for the long post.
