If it's a diesel isn't it the job of the vacuum pump to produce the vacuum ?
Sorry to point out the obvious but each sensor will be near the component.

I would expect the cam sensor to be in the cylinder-head and the crank sensor to near to one one of the engine block close to the crankshaft.
