Was a wiring fault although customer asked for the "cheap repair" as she's getting rid and getting a Touran.
So used some shielded twisted pair wire I'd got from a previous job and soldered from the vw yellow wires at the cts running to the ecu under the scuttle and soldering in the rear at the plug, Problem fixed, not as good as finding a greeny/blue bit in a loom but hey lets remember the customer is always right eh ?
